The offset body is a style that players have always embraced. It takes the traditional body proportions and gives it an edgier look while maintaining a visual and physical balance. This style, which became famous in the early 60’s, also seemed to mark the point where manufacturers began to see the bass as more than just the most basic utility instrument. Players were asking for neck and pickup options as well as some variation in the cosmetics. They were tired of playing second fiddle to the guitar players.
The FAIRLANE starts with the original styling concept and gives it a unique new edge. All 22 frets are entirely exposed and the offset styling is refined in a considerably lighter body. The smaller body and headstock consume less energy from the string, making the instrument more efficient. The compact angled-back headstock also produces more string bearing pressure at the nut for improved performance and a lighter weight neck.
The extended 5 and 6 bolt necks joint provides intense neck to body contact for incredible punch and performance.
